This Privacy Policy describes how SPARK ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

SPARK is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect ZERO personal information.

The App stores the following data LOCALLY on your device only:

Spark records (task names, completion times, duration)
Streak information (current streak, best streak, last spark date)
App preferences (sound settings, theme preference)
Onboarding completion status

This data NEVER leaves your device. We have no servers, no databases, and no way to access your information.

Data We Do NOT Collect

We do NOT collect:

Personal identification information (name, email, phone)
Location data
Device identifiers
Usage analytics or telemetry
Crash reports
Advertising identifiers
Any data for third-party sharing
Financial information
Social media information
Contacts or calendar data
Photos, files, or media
Microphone or camera data

How Your Data is Stored

All data is stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms provided by the operating system:

SharedPreferences for simple settings
Hive local database for spark records

Data is stored in your device's private application storage, which is protected by the operating system and not accessible to other apps.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data remains on your device for as long as you have the App installed.

To delete all your data:

Simply uninstall the App from your device
All locally stored data will be permanently deleted

There is no cloud backup, so once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.

Third-Party Services

SPARK does NOT use any third-party services within the app, including:

No analytics (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
No advertising networks
No social media integrations
No crash reporting services
No cloud storage providers
No authentication services

The App functions entirely offline and independently.

Voluntary Donations

SPARK offers an optional "Buy me a coffee" feature that links to Ko-fi, an external donation platform. Important notes:

This is completely optional and the app functions identically without donating
Clicking the donation link opens Ko-fi in your browser, outside our app
Any information you provide to Ko-fi is governed by Ko-fi's privacy policy
We do not receive any personal information about donors
Supporter codes are validated locally—we don't track who uses them

Children's Privacy

SPARK does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction).

Since we collect no personal information from any users, the App is safe for users of all ages. However, the App is designed for general audiences and is not specifically targeted at children.

Your Rights Under GDPR (EU Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights. Since all data is stored locally on your device and we have no access to it, you effectively have full control over your data.

International Users

SPARK is available worldwide. Since all data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted, there is no cross-border data transfer.

Your data stays on your device, in your country, under your control.

Security

We take the security of your data seriously:

All data is stored in your device's protected application storage
The operating system prevents other apps from accessing your SPARK data
No network transmission means no risk of data interception
No server storage means no risk of data breaches on our end

However, the security of your device is your responsibility. We recommend using device encryption and a secure lock screen.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
